Release Notes for Sprint 68 (01-03-2020)

This document describes enhancements and corrections for School LINQ.

New Features

Accounts Payable

Vendors

  • To accommodate the new 2020 IRS changes to 1099 forms, the 1099 box field options were updated. The new values are:
    • MISC Box 1- Rents
    • MISC Box 3 - Other Income
    • MISC Box 10 - Attorney Proceeds
    • NEC Box 1 - Nonemployee Compensation
  • All vendors currently marked 1099 were updated to the 2020 value according to their previous box setting. Box 7 is now NEC Box 1, and Box 14 is now MISC Box 10.

Reports: 1099 Vendor Payments

  • NEW! A 1099 Vendor Payments Report is now available in School Accounting and School LINQ. This report allows you to see payments made to vendors over the course of a calendar year so that those amounts can be reported up to the district for 1099 generation.

1099

  • The 1099 process has been updated for the new 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms. You can choose to process 1099-MISC forms or 1099-NEC forms, or both at the same time. When printing, you will be prompted to load the correct form in the printer. An IRS file will be created for each type.

Direct Deposit Setup

  • You are now able to add alphabetical characters in the Company ID field.

  • A District Name field has been added and will default to the Unit Name from Unit Setup.

Reports: W2

  • The following updates were made to the W2 to meet the new 2020 IRS changes:
    • The SSN will be masked on the Employee copy of the W2, with only the last four of the SSN appearing.
    • The full SSN will appear on both the Employer copy and the W2 file.
